It wouldn't be a real weddings blog if I didn't feature my own!
Miles and I chose to get married at Gorwell Fram in Abbotsbury. We first visited this venue for a booking with my events company and instantly fell in love. It is so private and feels like its own sanctuary. Surrounded by beautiful nature with amazing views of the Jurassic coastline. The venue also had 6 onsite cottages for guests and the bridal party to enjoy the whole weekend in and also a campsite for others to enjoy. We fully made the venue feel like our own for the whole weekend and filled the barn with the most gorgeous vibrant colours.
We were so lucky to have perfect weather for our day so our ceremony was set in the grounds up on the bank surrounded by beautiful tree's with a pergola at the end of the aisle. I choose to have vibrant and tall floral meadows lining some of the aisle with simple floral pieces to decorate the pergola- the surroundings are so beautiful I didn't want to distract from them.
My dress was from Chameleon Bride by Elysee bridal, the train and my veil were so long and they just flowed down the aisle perfectly. My bridesmaids were dressed in a pale champagne dress from six stories - I chose a pale neutral colour again so our florals stood out even more. We all had artificial bouquets which were so stunning on the day and have now become a lasting memory. Adam Lloyd music played the piano to me and my bridal party walking down the aisle, it was so special!
Not forgetting our amazing girls who made us all feel so beautiful LCC beauty as our MUA and SLAcouture for our hair.
After our ceremony, we had the drinks reception outside. With bespoke designed wedding cups filled with pimms for our guests and a personalised beer pong table and of course some canapés - there was plenty of fun to be had. Our dj DJ Funky T, provided our entertainment for the whole day, he set up outside for the drinks reception and then moved inside during the meal- perfectly matching the vibe of each part of the day.
After the drinks reception we then headed into the barn for our meal which we opted for a bbq style dinner from Sorrels which worked really well with the venue. Our bridal party planned a huge entrance into the barn, picture saxophone player (DJ funky t), confetti cannons in all directions, tequila trolly and beer belts accompanied by Abba Gimme Gimme Gimme! It really set the whole tone for the evening and got the whole party started. If you can get your bridal party involved in a wedding breakfast entrance I absolutely recommend you do!
The barn was decorated with long banquet tables with pink table cloths and low vibrant florals and bud vases. We chose to do personalised ribbons for our guests as we didn't do menu's so wanted something with extra detail on the place settings. Taddle farm tents supplied the festoon lighting which lit the venue throughout the day and into the evening.
For the evening decor, I chose to have a hot pink sequin wall to add in some colour to the dance floor end with a neon light for effect. I just loved how the vibrance of our decor mixed with the rustic barn!
Our day was captured so beautifully by Liza Edgington Photography and Thompson wedding films. These two lovely ladies worked together perfectly to ensure every detail of our day was captured, we are just so obsessed with all of the photos and always watch our wedding films back- memories to cherish for so many years to come. I cannot recommend Becky and Liza enough.
